Statement from Ersin Korkut on “illegal betting” allegations

Actor Ersin Korkut has made a statement through his lawyer regarding allegations that he “advertised an illegal betting site during a live broadcast and engaged in gambling.”

Within the scope of the illegal betting scandal, the names of Mehmet Ali Erbil, Serdar Ortaç, and Ersin Korkut had also been mentioned.

As part of an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office into 23 artists and social media influencers identified as promoting and encouraging illegal betting, 16 suspects were detained, including artist Mehmet Ali Erbil, singer Serdar Ortaç, musician Zorbey Erkoçlar, social media influencer İbrahim Yılmaz with 19 million followers, Russian-Turkish influencer Aleksander Mensikof, and Esma Sözen with 1.3 million followers.

Following the illegal betting allegations that became a public issue, a video allegedly showing Ersin Korkut encouraging illegal betting spread rapidly on social media.
